Spring is here, and it’s time for a morning routine refresh.
Since spring is all about new beginnings, I love to start fresh with a new routine.
Freshen up. This includes brushing my teeth, washing my face, and applying my moisturizer. It is personally important for me to have a clean mouth before I consume any food or drink.
Drink a glass of water. There are so many benefits to drinking water first thing in the morning. You are already dehydrated from not drinking for eight hours, it improves your digestion, and increases oxygen to your brain.
Get sunlight. If it’s warm enough, I will go out on our patio. Otherwise, I will open the windows and let the light in.
Meditate & breathe. While I wait for my coffee, I will do a breathing exercise and turn on a guided meditation. I love The Morning Ritual by Lilly Balch on Spotify.
Read an inspiring book. While I drink my coffee, I will read a book that gets me excited for the day. Some of my favorites have been Atomic Habits by James Clear, and Untamed by Glennon Doyle.
Journal. After I am done reading and feeling inspired, I will journal. I like to write down my gratitude, ideas, and then intentions for the day. My favorite journal for starting is the Five Minute Journal.
Make a light breakfast. I will make a really light healthy breakfast. This may be chia pudding with fruit, avocado toast, or oatmeal.
Get dressed for the day. There’s nothing that makes your feel more put together than putting on a cute outfit. I find when I change out of my pajamas, I am more productive and motivated.
There you have it! That is my simple spring morning routine.
Hopefully you will use some of these steps to curate your own refreshed spring routine.
